What's a boy without his dog?

Our pup Bailey (less than a year old) is a freak dog. She is terrified of everything, runs and hides when the doorbell rings and hides in her dog crate when she sleeps at night....that was....until Zack arrived! She now faithfully sleeps on the floor right next to Rich's side of the bed so that she is alert to any noises that she may hear, she barks when she hears the neighborhood moms walking around the housing development at night and she comes running every time the baby cries to see what is wrong with him. She is so sweet with him.
I was getting ready to change Zack and here came Bailey, wanting to play. She was abused before we got her, so getting her to lay on her side or belly is practically impossible because she always has her guard up....but since Zack has been home, she always rolls over for belly rubbins when the baby is laying on the floor. We tell her, "Gentle, Bailey. Be gentle," and she lays down carefully next to him and sniffs his toes.

Zack kept trying to get a handful of fur, but Bailey is too quick.

I had the camera ready to take another picture and I said, "Bailey, is it time to change the baby's diaper?" and she got right down there and sniffed Zack's bum to see if he did in fact need to be changed! So smart!

So stinkin' cute! It totally looks like they are going to hold hands in the first picture!
