Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
Today is Zack's first Halloween. Rich has the day off today, so we spent some time carving our pumpkin this morning. Zack liked watching us while sitting in his bouncer (until he decided it was nap time and just wanted to be rocked).

You can see Zack yelling at me in the background, "Get me my pacifier, woman!"

My job is always the messy part of cleaning out the pumpkin...Rich is the engineer, so I leave the actual carving part up to him.

Zack in his spooky outfit that Jess bought him. His bat hat even has little wings on it...too cute!

Zack's very first pun'kin! Daddy did a great job!

Best pals...

This is what Zack looks like when he wakes up in the morning. Nice hair, pal.
I'd cry if I had Krusty The Clown hair too, Baby.

There he goes, throwin' up gang signs again. Who teaches him these things?!?!

Yesterday, Zack and I attended the baby shower for our friends. This is a very exciting time in their lives, as they will be leaving in about two weeks to go get their daughter from China. They have been waiting for her for such a long time and the time has finally come to bring her home. Glenn and Sarah are amazing people and they are incredible parents to their son Daniel. Daniel is very anxious to be a big brother (probably not anxious enough to want to share his monster trucks with his little sister though!). Below is a picture of Glenn, Sarah and Daniel. We ask that you say a prayer for them...that they have safe travel and an smooth transition once Naomi is home.

This is their precious baby girl Naomi (Fu Chu Jie). We can't wait to have you home!

After the shower, Zack and I stopped in to check on Steph and to see our new pal Cristian.

They are going to be great pals. Lord knows nothing could separate their MOMS!

Talking on the phone with Grandma Sally...

Zack loves talking on the phone to his Grandma Sally. He does more heavy breathing than talking, but Grandma loves it either way. She talks to him and he smiles and lets out big sighs while listening intently to what Grandma is saying.

The greatest birthday, ever...

Today was my 26th birthday. I woke up this morning to a phone call at 6 am from my best friend Steph wishing me a happy birthday and letting me know it was "time". She wasn't due until next Friday, but her little man Cristian decided to grace us with his presence on my birthday. What's funny is that Steph was over for lunch yesterday and we were joking about how Cristian and I just may end up sharing a birthday, although we weren't truly expecting it to actually happen. Labor lasted about 9 hours and he was born happy and healthy at 7 lbs., 1 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long.
This is such an exciting new venture for Steph and me. We have been best friends since the first day of freshman year of high school and we have been through a lot together....now, we both have our first children, both boys and they are only 6 weeks and one day apart. Steph will be going back to work in six weeks and I will be keeping Cristian home with me and Zack three days a week after that.

Luis is such a proud daddy. He did so well at supporting and encouraging Steph through her labor.

Just makes me cry seeing how happy they are that he is finally here.

I think it's about time that Stephie gets some rest :)

Hi sweet boy! We've waited so long for you!

What an amazing gift from God. We are truly blessed and so is he.

Heather and Steph and I have been best friends for a long time. Heather and I wouldn't have missed this moment for the world. Even being as tired as she is, Steph is still beautiful.

The many faces of Zack...

This week, Zack's personality really started to show. He began to make some great facial expressions that he hadn't made before and we were able to capture a handful of them...

The "Hey...how YOU doin'?" look.

The "I'm trying to make you a present" look.

The "I think I'm finished making my present. Where is my clean diaper, Mommy?" look.

The "Yes! Got a clean diaper again!" look.

The "I'm just getting used to my bouncer / what is that vibrating thing under my rear?" look.

The "Hey! This vibrating thing ain't half bad!" look.

The "Uh-oh! Here comes a sneeze!" look.

The "Hey, Daddy! You're home!" look.

The "I think I'm tired / time to zone out" look.

The "Okay, I just realized that my pacifier is NOT in my mouth" look.

The "I'm telling you, whoever has my pacifier had BETTER hand it over or I'm really gonna scream!" look.

The "I love my Mommy" look.

The "My Daddy is my hero" look.

My personal favorite.

Zack's first playdate...

Zack had his first playdate today with his new friend Logan. The two are only 9 days apart. Logan and his mommy Emily came over for lunch and we had such a good time. Can't wait to do it agian!

I think Zack was more interested in "playing" than Logan was. Logan just wanted to sleep.

"Hey Logan...you're missing the movie!"

Last night, Zack was sleeping on his Boppy pillow and I think he was dreaming that he was Mighty Mouse :)
