It's official!!!

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!
This morning, we went to court and finalized Zack's adoption. Now, we are legally no longer his "guardians", but his "parents"! No more social worker visits, no more home studies, no more trips to the attorney's office, no more paperwork...it's all over!
Our attorney Sheldon playing with Zack in court.

Zack was so happy...he just kept jumping throughout the entire proceeding and smiling at our family that was sitting behind us.

Judge Aronson let us come up to his bench to take pictures with him and our attorney, Sheldon.

Mom, Emily, Logan, Colleen, AJ, Shea, Alex, Kristie and Kasey all came to witness the adoption.

Zack showing off his fangs. This is our first picture as an official family...although it's felt official for a long time!

We are so blessed.

Fun in the sun...

It's getting hot!
We bought Zack a blow-up pool to play in when his baby friends come over, but we couldn't wait to break it in. The only problem we ran into was that the sun was beating down on the patio and the only way we could shade him from it was to sit in the pool with him and hold an umbrella. I think he had more fun having someone in the pool playing with him anyways.

"I love my new BIG bathtub, Daddy!"

Zack and his Godfather, Brian (Heather's fiance).
Friday, Heather moved into her new apartment! Rich helped move a few things over in the evening, then Zack and I brought dinner over when they were finished. It's such a cute place!

Zack VERY interested in Bailey now that he can crawl and chase after her.

Bailey doesn't seem to mind!

"Look at that BIG kitty!"...

Yesterday, I took Zack over to Emily's to play with Logan. Logan just got two new baby goats, Daisy and Penelope. We had so much fun!

Zack getting trampled by one of the baby goats. It didn't phase him one bit.

This child is fearless.

"Mommy, that's a BIG kitty!"

Zack: "I crack myself up!"

They were BOTH trying to eat the hay.

Big News!!!...

WE HAVE A COURT DATE!!!
We will be going to court on Monday, April 28th...that's right...less than one week away! The purpose of this court date is to finalize our adoption. In order to finalize, we must meet with and have the written approval from the county judge.
We'd like to invite everyone to join us at the Sutter County Court House at 8:00 am on Monday, April 28th - - Department A (upstairs).
We will also be celebrating with pizza and drinks at the red and white park at the north end of Clark Avenue around 5 pm that evening. We'd love it if everyone would be able to celebrate with us...bring the whole family! Please give me a call or e-mail me (theleprechaunchic@hotmail.com) ASAP and let me know if you are planning on joining us, that way we can make sure we have enough drinks and food.
IT'S ALMOST OVER!!!

Some random pics...

I LOVE this picture of him...obviously it was before the haircut :)
I couldn't remember if I had posted this picture before, but this was a picture I took of Cristian when I watched him for a bit last week.

I got this outfit for Zack because it reminded me of his birth father, Nick. Nick loves to play the guitar..."Hey, hey...I wanna be a rock star!"

Me and Zack hanging out with Auntie Patti and Maddie in Elk Grove last week.

We also visited with my friend Margaret in Sac. for a bit and she bought Zack this sweet outfit. I promised to take a picture for her.

Rich and I bought Zack a new car seat this weekend. You wouldn't believe it, but he has already exceeded the weight limit for his infant carrier! When he went to the doctor for his 6 month appointment a month ago, he weighed 19.2 lbs. I weighed him again last week and he was 22.8 lbs. and his infant car seat was only intended to hold him until 22 lbs. He's growing SO fast! He's already wearing 12 month clothes and who knows how long he'll be able to fit into those!

Zack's first haircut...

How sad is this? Our son just turned 7 months old and was in desperate need of a haircut already! A long-time friend of the family owns The Little Red Hair House in town. I called him this past week and here was the conversation:
Me: Jerald, I have a problem...
Jerald: Well, I hope it's something I can help with! What is it?
Me: Our son looks like Donald Trump.
Jerald: Bring'em on down and I'll fix'em up! See you at 5.
This is his "pre-haircut".

"I'm SO excited to see the barber! Wait...what's a barber?"

"Are you SURE this is not gonna hurt, Mommy?"

"Daddy's right there, Zack. You're going to be fine."

Here we go! He LOVED getting his hair cut! He laughed and smiled at himself in the mirror the whole time!

"This isn't so bad, Daddy. I'm a big boy."

Thank you, Jerald!

The "post-haircut" photo.
What a handsome little man!

Heather's bridal shower...

I'm a little behind on my picture posting! A little over a week ago, we had Heather's bridal shower at Peachtree country club. Her great aunts and her grandma did a beautiful job putting on a luncheon in her honor. Not too much longer and she'll be hitched!!!
Heather and her cousin, Teal.

Grandma, Aunt Mary and Aunt Gayle...toasting the bride.

Best friends since high school! Steph, Heather and Me.

Look out Farrah Faucet!!!
