Zack learning to babble...

I just learned how to post video to the blog (took me long enough!)...so here ya go! Zack turned two months old yesterday and he started babbling for the very first time. He layed in bed with us for a good 30 minutes just telling us all sorts of exciting things :)

Lots of fun...

Rich had the weekend off, so we had a lot going on!
We spent Friday evening fighting colic and we finally got him to go to sleep in his sling. He loves being all bundled up like he's in a cocoon.

Then, we fed him a bottle and he fell asleep again! I guess he wore himself out with all that fussing :)

After dinner, Zack and his daddy napped in the nap chair until it was time for bed. (FYI: Rich is holding his paci in, not trying to suffocate him.)

Obviously our cat Gramps didn't mind the nap either!

This is his "Statue of Liberty" pose.

On Saturday afternoon, I threw a baby shower for my brother Clint's girlfriend Tara. Congratulations you two! December will be here before you know it!
My brother Clint holding Zack for the first time. We were teasing that he'd better get used to holding little ones since his is coming so soon, then Zack spit up all over the crotch of Clint's pants! He's just breaking him in.

Look at all the great presents!

About a half an hour after the shower, Rich's dad called and said that some of his family was in town from London and wanted to visit, so they stopped by for a few minutes.

Saturday night, we left Zack with my mom and we went to our friend Chrissy's house for a "Thankful for Friends" dinner. A full Thanksgiving dinner! She did such an amazing job with everything!
I love you too, Chrissy!

Enjoying and adult evening out.

Today we are taking it easy, as you can see. Zack was supposed to get his 2-month shots today, but he has come down with a little cold and we are just trying to get him all rested up. The doctor said it's nothing to worry about; it's just that time of year. I was able to take a nice long walk while he slept at home with Rich.

They have her!!!

As I have said before, our friends Glenn & Sarah (and Daniel too) are in China to get their new daughter Naomi Christine. Well, at midnight our time last night (4pm China time) they were able to meet and hold their daughter for the very first time. I am completely amazed at their journey and their faith throughout it. We are so excited they will be coming home soon WITH NAOMI!!! Thank you for praying for our friends - - Naomi is proof that prayer works! Houstons, we love you!

The face of colic...

This is what our evenings look like!
We have tried everything under the sun! We have switched formula three times, we use symethicone drops for gas, we feed smaller doses, we burp more often, we take breaks in feeding, we don't over-stimulate him, we take walks, we hold him, we rock him, we talk to him....nothing works. We have a check-up with our pediatrician on Monday to see if there is anything else we could be doing, but we do understand that some babies are just colicky and it may be something we'll just have to wait for him to grow out of. We think that he may have GER (gastroesophageal reflux) and we may have to change to yet an even more gentle formula than he's already on. My nerves are shot! He can scream like this for 4 hours straight in the evenings and by the time Rich gets home, I have to pass him off because I'm so tired. Please pray for continued patience for both of us and pray that the pediatrician will be able to guide us in a direction to make the evenings a little more calm and peaceful.

Dinner with the Romero's...

Last night we had dinner with Steph, Luis and Cristian. It was so great just to have a relaxing night with our friends, and Zack was gracious enough to wait until we got in the car to come home to have his colic fit. :)

Happy 2 week birthday, Cristian!

Boppy time!

Zack is 8 weeks old today! Today was the first day that Zack actually liked playing on his tummy. He was in a good mood, so I grabbed his Boppy pillow and we played on the floor. At first, he wasn't quite sure if he liked it or not.

Then he realized he DID like it.

He is so strong! He held his head up so well.

Trick-or-Treating at Grandma's & Steph's...

We took Zack trick-or-treating last night at his Auntie Steph's and then at Grandma's house. We were able to meet up with all the nieces and nephews - - they all had great costumes!
"This is SO not cool Dad. I hope none of my friends see me like this."

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
Today is Zack's first Halloween. Rich has the day off today, so we spent some time carving our pumpkin this morning. Zack liked watching us while sitting in his bouncer (until he decided it was nap time and just wanted to be rocked).

You can see Zack yelling at me in the background, "Get me my pacifier, woman!"

My job is always the messy part of cleaning out the pumpkin...Rich is the engineer, so I leave the actual carving part up to him.

Zack's very first pun'kin! Daddy did a great job!
